For this week's shooting assignment, I took pictures of nature. To get good pictures for nature, I went to an apple orchard and took pictures of the apples, trees, and pumpkins. This is a good time of year for nature pictures, because the leaves are changing and there are many different, vibrant colors. Best PhotoAperture: f/8.0 Shutter Speed: 1/60 ISO: 100 While editing this picture, I adjusted the contrast, clarity, and saturation

For this weeks Shooting Assignment I took pictures of light painting. Taking the light painting pictures was a lot of fun. I used different colors and different kinds of lights to draw different designs in a dark room with a long shutter speed so the digital image sensor could pick up the light. Best photo Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 5 ISO: 100 While I was editing this picture in Photoshop, I cropped it so there was less black background to distract from the swirl that was made with the light. BeforeAfterIn the photo retouch assignment we had to edit the picture of the Audi R8 taken by Noelle Jacobs in photo shop to make the picture look better than it did when it was first taken. The first picture above is the way the original picture looked and the second picture is what it looked like after I edited it. What I did to edit the photo was I got rid of the lights reflection on the hood of the car and made the background all black so that the car stood out more and the background did not take away from the main object in the picture, which is the car.
This week for my photo assignment I decided to take pictures of an event. The reason that I chose to take pictures of event is because this week was our homecoming game, so our community had a parade. while I was taking pictures of the parade I was having trouble getting the pictures fast enough because the parade never stopped moving, I just had to go along with the speed of what I was taking pictures. Since it was going so fast there are a lot of pictures that I took of the backs floats, cars, and people. Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/640 ISO: 200 While I was editing this photo I cropped it to eliminate extra distraction in the background and brightened the picture. For the past couple days in digital photography our assignment was to take a picture of ourselves and crop it into a square and make it black and white. We did this so we could have four of the same pictures that were different colors side by side like the ones below. While I was doing this assignment I became more comfortable using Photoshop, and I leaned how to make things black and white than change the color by changing the hue, saturation and lighting. I also learned how split the background into four spaces so I could put the same picture next to each other four times.
While I shot macro for photo assignment one, I learned how to use the macro setting on the camera. I also learned that when you are taking pictures really close up you have to be careful of leaving a shadow on the subject in the picture. The way that I made sure I didn't leave a shadow is I took the same shot from different angles till there was no shadow from the camera in the picture. Best PhotoMy best photo for macro is this picture of berries that I took on a bush in my backyard. The aperture was f/3.5, the shutter speed was 1/400, and the ISO was 100. For the past couple of weeks in school we have been working on elements in pictures that will make the pictures we take look better. We worked on 11 elements which were Texture, Symmetry, Rule of Thirds, Pattern, Lines, Depth of Field, Space, Perspective, Frame, Color, and Balance. While doing this project, I learned many new things. I learned how to import pictures off of the camera and put them into bridge. I learned how to make folders to keep my pictures in and keep them organized. I also learned how to make my pictures look better by taking a second to think about them before I take them, and by adding these elements into them.
My Name is Anna DiMelis. I am a photography student in high school. I chose to take photography this year because I enjoy taking pictures, and looking at pictures. Another reason that I decided to take photography class is because I have heard good things about the class. I am excited to learn new things to take better pictures, because I have no experience.
